CHARITY SHOPS

No one can fail to notice the number of charity shops in towns these days. Some raise funds for national and international charity work, others for local organisations. If you're thinking about helping in a charity shop it's worth thinking about the charity you'll be helping. What's important to you? Overseas aid? Childrens Charities? Animals? Cancer Research? There is a lot of choice!

Volunteers work on a rota system, so you can offer to help perhaps one morning or afternoon a week. You'll work as one of a team, so there's a good chance to meet new people.

Get involved in:-

  • Preparing goods for sale - unpacking, ironing etc.
  • Pricing articles
  • Till work
  • Dealing with customer enquiries
  • Banking

For anyone wanting to work in the retail trade, this volunteering can provide a good learning experience

Don't forget:
Volunteering can increase your skills and help you in your own life.
Could it make a difference to your CV?
