PHYSICAL & SENSORY DISABILITIES

There are many ways in which volunteers help in social and sports activities for people with disabilities. A great way to share your interests and skills with someone less abled.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
There are social clubs for people with physical and sensory (blind, deaf) disabilities and also one to one social support through Befriending schemes. Some volunteers prefer working in a group situation on a specific day of the week, whereas other find befriending offers a very flexible form of volunteering - perhaps for as little as an hour a week.

SPORTS ACTIVITIES
If you have an interest in a particular sport or activity yourself then this helps, but it's not essential.
Help disabled people to enjoy :-

  • swimming
  • horse riding
  • badminton, tennis, bowls

Various sessions throughout the week, including weekends.

Don't forget:
Volunteering can increase your skills and help you in your own life.
Could it make a difference to your CV?
