TRUSTEES REPORT
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST MARCH 2007
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE (continued)
E.  Ensure Volunteer Centre services and management are of an appropriate quality
and meet nationally accredited standards
Volunteering England Quality Accreditation
Maintaining Quality Accreditation with Volunteering England is seen as key to future development and sustainability. Our renewal is due in Autumn 2008. Qualifying evidence has to be less than 18 months old, so preparations will begin in 2007.
Investor in People
The Volunteer Centre secured a grant from Herts Infrastructure Consortium to cover the expenses of IiP renewal. Assessment took place in March 2007 and a very favourable report was received. The assessor recommended the Centre for IiP Champion status but time did not permit us to pursue this.
Investing in Volunteers
A grant was secured from Volunteering England to enable the Centre to prepare and be assessed for this accreditation. Assessment consisted of a portfolio of evidence demonstrating good practice in volunteer management and verbal evidence from our volunteers, who were interviewed by the assessor. The Centre was recommended for the accreditation by the assessor and this should be confirmed in October 2007.
The Business Plan was reviewed and updated during the year. Measuring achievements against this document and planning future developments has been integrated into the Board of Director's Annual Work Plan. The Investor in People Assessor was particularly impressed with the Business Plan and the process of involvement of all staff, trustees and volunteers in planning processes.
Trustee recruitment.
No new trustees were elected at the AGM and a long standing Director retired.
