TRUSTEES & COMMITTEES

Committees in the voluntary and statutory sectors vary tremendously in their size and function. Included in this area of volunteering are committees which organise and run fundraising events, trustees of charities which employee staff to provide services in the community and school governors.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEES

CHARITY TRUSTEES
Charities need a range of expertise on their management committees. Volunteers with a background in finance, employment law, human resources, business planning are often needed to work alongside other trustees who have voluntary sector experience. Treasurers are always in short supply.

To find out more about the roles and responsibilities of trustees visit the Charity Commission web site which has an impressive list of publications for downloading.

SCHOOL GOVERNORS
Governors are responsible for the smooth running of schools - including the employment of staff and setting policies and budgets.

Don't forget:
Volunteering can increase your skills and help you in your own life.
