A cheque for 9.9 million hours was presented to the Mayor of Dacorum, Cllr Carol Green and another to local MP Tony McWalter. From the National Volunteering Survey of 1997, we knew that 48% of the adult population volunteer for an average of 4 hours a week. We did our maths, using the adult population of Dacorum, and came to this staggering figure!
