TOOLKIT
AVAILABLE
Ideal
for Volunteer Centres (or large organisations with a variety of
opportunities)
As a result of many requests, we have produced a toolkit with
event planning, hints & tips, templates for score sheets, sample
press releases etc. All you need to run a Speed Matching event!
Quote
fron one satisfied user of the toolkit:-
Volunteer
Centre Wokingham ran its 1st Volunteer Speed Matching event earlier
this week (May 2007), and it was a huge success! I can't praise
the toolkit enough - it really helped us to organise the event and
is well worth the £15. The event generated loads of publicity
for the Volunteer Centre, increased the number of volunteers registering,
and has improved our standing with our local partners. If anyone
is thinking about doing Speed Matching I'd recommend getting the
kit, then talking directly with a Centre who's already done it,
and then just DO IT!

Volunteer
Recruitment - the fun way! Organisations and potential volunteers find
out about each other in a speedy chat with no commitment.
Speed
dating has taken the UK by storm, so we created “Volunteer Speed
Matching” with all the characteristics of speed dating including
score sheets, a stop watch, and "daters" moving from table
to table on 4 minute whistle sounds.
Our
first event (in 2005) gained considerable publicity and the toolkit
we produced as a result is now being used by Volunteer Centres worldwide.
How was it for you? Local organisations & volunteers give Volunteer
Speed Matching the thumbs up, with the earth moving for some of them!
It invariably turns out that everybody loves somebody, and the event
itself is great fun.
Second
dates? Volunteer Centre staff match "Yes" & "Maybe"
scores after Speed Matching events and set up second "dates".
We then cross our fingers and hope they'll all be very happy together.
