How
can we help you to find your ideal volunteering?
In
simple terms a Volunteer Centre acts as a source of information on volunteering
for:-
- volunteers
- both new and existing
- organisations
- both charities and non-profit making agencies that work with volunteers
We
help around 700 local people find their ideal volunteering each year.
So... how can the Centre help you if you are considering volunteering?
-
We can help you sift through your various volunteering options, once
we know your interests and why you have decided to volunteer. This
can be in our offices or over the phone. We have first hand knowledge
of most of the projects on our database.
-
You
will be put under no pressure to decide what you want to do. Centre
staff are there to help you to make your own decisions, in your own
time. If they don't know the answers to all your questions they will
be pleased to find out for you.
-
Once
you have made your choice, the Centre will be able to put you in contact
with the organisation or group you have selected. It is then up to
the Volunteer Co-ordinator / Organiser of the group to follow up your
offer of help.
-
Someone
from VCD will contact you a few weeks after referring you on to an
organisation. We always like to know how you are getting on with your
voluntary work.
-
The
Centre is always on hand, should you have an further queries about
your volunteering
Don't
forget:
Volunteering can increase your skills and help you in your own life.
Could it make a difference to your CV?
