YOUTH
see also Children & Families

It's often forgotten that many organisations working with young people are run entirely by volunteers. These are just a few of the voluntary opportunities available

The Scout and Guide Associations alone account for thousands of volunteers throughout the country. Volunteers can be uniformed leaders or non-uniformed helpers.

Youth Clubs are invariably short of volunteers to share hobbies and interests with young people.

Homeless young people - various opportunities are available to work voluntarily with an organisation which supports young people who are homeless. Work includes office duties, crashpad support and outreach work in schools.

Youth Offender Panels
Volunteers are needed to join Youth Offending Team members on panels which challenge young offenders to take responsibility for their actions

Important note: Criminal record checks are necessary before volunteers can start working with young people.

Don't forget:
Volunteering can increase your skills and help you in your own life.
Could it make a difference to your CV?
