Do you want to volunteer during the Corona Virus outbreak?
WE ARE STILL OPERATING BUT FROM BEHIND CLOSED DOORS! - IF YOU WANT TO HELP IN THE VIRUS CRISIS BUT WORRY ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES, DO IT THROUGH A REGISTERED GROUP WHO ALREADY WORK WITH THE VULNERABLE!
Support4Dacorum is a member organisation that supports the local voluntary sector. Many of our member groups are front-line services working with elderly and vulnerable members of our community.
Most of these services are run by small staff teams and large numbers of volunteers, who during these challenging times may need additional support to keep running either through increased demand or because members of their own teams are having to self-isolate or are vulnerable themselves
These services are crucial to the wellbeing of those who need it most, but even more so now as vulnerable members of our community are being advised to self- isolate and not able to access services, this is where we need your help.
Community Action Dacorum is compiling a database of community volunteers and we are looking for people who want to be of help and support their local community. If this is you then please email us at email@example.com
Roles could be as simple as making daily phone calls to a list of isolated people to have a chat and check they are ok and keeping in contact with the charity you are linked with. Loneliness is already a major issue for many, particularly the elderly and vulnerable and a friendly voice can make a real difference.
You may already work in a profession where you already have a current DBS check in place and could help an organisations providing face to face contact, be it shopping or collecting a prescription for a housebound person or family. We would love to hear from you!
Please register if you think you can help or give us a call on 01442 24720

The Charity Commission is warning trustees and donors to strengthen defences as it fears the pandemic has created environments that are enabling charity fraud.
Our charity has supported over 400 organisations across Dacorum helping them to find the volunteers they need to keep vital services running. Over the last decade we helped over 10,000 people of all ages, abilities and walks of life to become volunteers.
