Here at the Dacorum Volunteer Centre, we currently have access to over 100 different volunteering opportunities. The choice is so varied that we are sure that you will be able to find one that suits your interests and fits in with your available time. Whatever you decide to do you will find it very rewarding and we can assure you that your help will be much appreciated.

Below is just a very small sample of the very different volunteering opportunities that are currently available. Where necessary, training will be provided.


Age UK Dacorum - Handyperson – For this role you will need your own vehicle, proven DIY skills and a friendly and outgoing disposition with an ability to get on and work for older people.


Keech Hospice Care – Driver - Children’s Services – Volunteer Drivers will assist and facilitate children with life-limiting illnesses and their families/carers to access services provided by the Children’s Hospice by the provision of transport.


Dacorum First Credit Union Ltd – Credit Committee Member – If you have 4 hours per month and a background in credit control or finance, the management team need your help to review loan applications and help manage issues relating to outstanding loans.


Frogmore Paper Mill & Visitor Centre – Retail Assistant - The shop is open to the general public on Thursdays and 1st Sunday of the month. In this role, you will be acting as the first port of call to all visitors and as a customer service advisor.


Playskill – Group Volunteer – To welcome families to the group, provide refreshments, prepare children’s snack time, wash up after messy play and help the team tidy up at end of each session.


The Friends of Halsey Field – Conservation Volunteer – Needed to help look after the newly developed Wildlife Site in Gadebridge.


The Heather Club – Club Chairperson - This charity provides a vital community service to both those living with dementia and memory loss and their carers.
