The British Heart Foundation
Help fight Heart Disease
With heart disease being a major cause of death and with all of us knowing someone who has been affected by it, the importance of research cannot be over emphasised. Money raised by The British Heart Foundation’s many shops helps fund numerous research projects into treatments and cures for heart disease.
As well as relying on donations of items such as clothing, jewellery and accessories, the British Heart Foundation shops also rely heavily on volunteers to help day to day. Locally, the British Heart Foundation shop by Bank Court at 214 Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead has several interesting vacancies:
Jewellery Volunteer –This role is the perfect opportunity for someone interested in merchandising. Do you have a good eye for jewellery, and the ability to recognise different type of stones (eg. jade, tigers eye or even diamonds!)?
Accessories Department Volunteer - Calling all fashionistas! Can you spot a pair of designer shoes, or a designer handbag? Help is needed to identify, clean, price and look up items on E-bay. As other tasks include putting stock on display on the shop floor an artistic flair would be useful!
Telephone Receptionist & Researcher – A friendly and organised person with good communication skills is needed to answer the phones, help customers with their enquiries, make bookings for collections and do general admin and filing work, as well as researching collectable goods using a computer.
Telephone/Face to face Canvasser - Are you good communicator with lots of initiative and a way with words? If so they are looking for you for this crucial role , as the success of the shop relies heavily on the donations that it receives.
Leaflet Distributors for Tring and Berkhamsted areas – This flexible role is ideal for anyone who enjoys being outside, and can help generate much needed stock by distributing leaflets.
For more details visit us at the Roundhouse (by Boots), Hemel Hempstead. A friendly welcome awaits you from our very own volunteers!
Can you help our Knit and Natter Group who desperately need 2 ply knitting wool so they can continue to supply the local hospitals with knitted articles? Any donations will be gratefully received at the Roundhouse.
