Rennie Grove Hospice Care
With its Head Office in St Albans, and a team of 1500 amazing volunteers, Rennie Grove Hospice Care is a charity which provides care and support for patients diagnosed with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, and their families in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. It was formed in 2011 when two charities, Iain Rennie Hospice at Home, and Grove House joined forces. Every year, through their 24/7 Hospice at Home service, their Family Support services and the range of Day Services at Grove House in St Albans, they give thousands of patients in Herts and Bucks the choice to stay at home, surrounded by their families and friends.
In a challenging economic climate it is essential that their I.T systems are an operational asset. The speed of technological change, the need to support more patients and clients, engage their donors and patrons more effectively, target their marketing activities more accurately and responsively, and the difficulty of finding good, impartial advice all conspire to make achieving their strategic goals extremely challenging.
As they embark on development of their 2019-22 strategic plans, their objective is to develop a clear, comprehensible ICT plan supported by a strong governance framework. Early work has identified the need for a Trustee with an ICT background and specific skills, knowledge and experience to help the Board of Trustees reach sound decisions relating to ICT and development of a digital culture.
Rennie Grove is looking for a strategic thinker to ensure the development of a strategic roadmap to cover the four major components of their ICT environment. Recent efforts have been focused on replacing and upgrading the network infrastructure, telecommunications services and the web site, but Rennie Grove now faces the more challenging prospect of developing a digital culture.
