Stay active with Volunteering!
Everyone knows the benefits of an active lifestyle from decreased blood pressure to better mental health. You can combine physical activity with volunteering and reap twice the benefits! We have a number of volunteer roles that will keep you physically active while you give back to your local community.
We have a few gardening opportunities that will get you out in the fresh air. Dacorum Borough Council and Sunnyside Rural Trust are both looking for Gardening assistants and Frogmore Paper Mill are looking for a volunteer to help with some hands-on activities such as gardening, decorating as well as general carpentry. Volunteering with Boxmoor Trust or The Friends of Halsey Field will also get you outside, helping to conserve our beautiful countryside.
If you feel like hitting the pavements, doing a bit of volunteering on the side of your evening stroll, The British Heart Foundation are looking for volunteers to distribute leaflets in Potten End, Tring and Berkhamsted.
If you prefer to get your activity away from the elements, especially now that it’s starting to get colder, we also have a number of opportunities that take place inside. Puffins DSCO are looking for people to help facilitate sporting and social opportunities for adults with learning disabilities. You would get to participate in a number of sports such as badminton and table tennis while helping people with learning difficulties. Dacorum Mencap are also looking for people to help their activities clubs. They are in need of people to help support people with learning disabilities at their monthly Gateway club where you would help with refreshments, play games and socialise.
