Scouts and Girl Guides in need of volunteers!
Hemel Hempstead Scouts urgently need extra leaders and young leaders to join their Beaver, Cub Scout and Scout Sections across Hemel Hempstead and surrounding areas!
Beavers are aged 6-8 and are the youngest section in the group, Cubs are aged 8-10 and Scouts are aged 10-14. The groups take part in activities like craft, outdoor activities and challenges, fun and games as well as completing badges!
Due to overwhelming demand Hemel Hempstead Scouts are currently recruiting for various roles within their groups. They currently have 14 groups and offer fun and adventure to over 1000 young people aged 6-17 on every night of the week at a community centre / scout hut near you!
You'll be supported by the other adult leaders involved in the groups and there is a national training scheme available. A DBS check is required and provided for all roles, depending on how involved you'd like to get. There are roles varying from a section assistant all the way through to section leader.
The Scouts are looking for adult volunteers as well as potential new young leaders (aged 14 and over). If you are thinking about volunteering with the scouts as part of DofE all of the section leaders will have supported young people through this before and will be able to sign off the paperwork required! Who knows you may even want to stay after the 6/12 month period is finished!!
There are also opportunities available with the Girl Guides for people aged between 18 and 65. Boxmoor Rainbows would like a unit helper and Chaulden Guides need an assistant guider. Any help anywhere in the division would be much appreciated though!
