Wanted – People like you!
Do you have admin or customer service skills that you would like to put to good use to help a local charity?
Would you like to learn new skills and meet new people at the same time in an office environment?
If the answer is yes to either of the above then why not give volunteering a try?
At the Volunteer Centre, we have a number of local charities with interesting and varied administrative roles on offer just waiting to hear from you!
We are always looking for volunteers in the administration sector. We have various opportunities that need people with office skills – including answering the telephone, manning the reception desk, greeting clients and typing up documents. Although a degree of knowledge is required first hand, it could be a great way to get your skills up to date and meet new people at the same time!
The roles are completely varied – some require a receptionist to man the reception desk and greet and meet members of the public. Some roles are more behind the scenes, like helping to maintain the smooth running of their office which would include administrative duties like IT tasks and manning the switchboard. You could be doing data entry or filing – the list is endless in an established office environment. Obviously there is always help at hand – you will not be dropped in at the deep end and training will be given where needed!
So, those of you out there who like good customer service and enjoy meeting people and can spare a few hours a week doing something really worthwhile and at the same time using your admin skills then please get in contact with us today!
You can drop in and see us at the Roundhouse in the Marlowes for an informal chat – our opening hours are 10.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday and 10.00am to 2.00pm on a Saturday, or contact us on 01442 247209 and we can arrange for you to come in and meet one of our advisors who will go through everything with you. We look forward to seeing you!
