Calling All Cat Lovers!

Have you ever thought of fostering a cat? As well as looking for permanent homes for cats, Cats Protection is currently looking for volunteers to foster cats or kittens who are in need of temporary homes due to them either being abandoned, having strayed or due to a change in their owner’s personal circumstances.

If you love cats and want to do something practical but perhaps can’t commit to owning a cat 365 days a year or guarantee that you will lead a cat-friendly lifestyle for the lifespan of the pet fostering may be the answer .Fostering not only benefits cats and kittens, it provides cat lovers with an opportunity to do something worthwhile.

  • Cat accommodation e.g. a cat cabin or equipment to adapt a spare room
  • Food, litter, bedding, bowls, litter trays and toys for your foster cat
  • Veterinary treatment for Cats Protection cats/kittens in your care
  • Help, support and training so you feel confident and happy as a fosterer

Over the last five years Cats Protection has helped over one million cats with fosterers playing a huge role in achieving this fantastic milestone. Fostering however is just one of the many ways you can help to create happy outcomes for unwanted cats.

You can find out more about the work of Cats Protection on Saturday 3rd June from 2pm to 4pm at Adeyfield Community Centre, Queens Square, Adeyfield, HP2 4EN.

If this doesn’t appeal, we have many other volunteering opportunities, our latest being for Guide Dogs who are looking for My Guide Volunteers, to help visually impaired people get out and about locally.

Also, please note that as from the end of May, Herts Society for the Blind will be known as Herts Vision Loss.
