Support4Dacorum

You may have seen the words ‘Support4Dacorum’ on the Roundhouse and on our posters but maybe you don’t know exactly what it means. Support4Dacorum is a support service for voluntary and community groups within the Borough of Dacorum, delivered by Community Action Dacorum, which funds our work here at the Volunteer Centre.

Support4Dacorum (S4D) is a local service that is here to support voluntary and community organisations with a wide variety of services. There is a small annual membership fee to join S4D and for that, there are a number of benefits that will help you and your group or charity, big or small. We can help you start a group, including help with writing a constitution and helping you understand the important role of trustees or management committees. We can also help with organisational development including policies, procedures and project development. We are able to offer support with funding applications and advice as well as other support such as training for your staff and volunteers.

The Volunteer Centre is part of S4D and we are here to help groups recruit and manage volunteers. We work with a number of charities and businesses across the Borough and, as such, we have regular networking events which will get you familiar with other organisations in the area which may lead to valuable partnerships which we will also help to support. S4D can also help with payroll and copying services as well as offering minibus hire.

Radio Dacorum is a local online radio station run by Community Action Dacorum. As part of S4D, you can promote your group with discounted adverts on Radio Dacorum as well as advertising at any of our events. We have a monthly newsletter sent out to our members to keep them apprised of various local and national topics.

As you can see, Support4Dacorum is a lot more than some letters on our posters! If you want any more information, visit support4dacorum.org.uk or pop in to talk to us at the Roundhouse! You can also follow us on Facebook @volunteerdacorum or Twitter @VCDacorum!
