Volunteers’ Week is coming!
Volunteers’ Week takes place every year over the week spanning 1st-7th June. Volunteers’ Week is a chance to celebrate and say thank you to the fantastic contribution that millions of volunteers make around the UK.
Naturally, here at the Volunteer Centre, Volunteers’ Week is very important to us! It’s our opportunity to recognise the hard work that not only the volunteers here at the Roundhouse do, but ALL volunteers throughout Dacorum!
As a way to say thank you, we will be hosting a number of events throughout the week.
On Saturday 1st June, we will be joined by Radio Dacorum who will be entertaining the Marlowes with some lively beats! Come along and enjoy the music and maybe even snag some goodies!
We’ll be joined throughout the week by various local charities who will be at the Roundhouse to let people know about all the incredible work they do and maybe even inspire some people to help out and volunteer!
On Tuesday 4th June, we will be joined by Crossroads Care Hertfordshire North who provide support for unpaid family carers and the people they care for in Hertfordshire.
On Wednesday 5th June, our own Community Transport will be here to let people know about all the great work they do solving transport problems for less abled people in Dacorum.
On Thursday 6th June, the local Age UK Dacorum will be joining us for the day. Age UK Dacorum work within the borough of Dacorum to improve with quality of life for older people.
On Friday 7th June, Rennie Grove Hospice Care, who provide care and support for adults and children diagnosed with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses as well as their families, will be at the Roundhouse telling us all about their hard work.
As you can see, it’ll be a very busy week for us here at the Volunteer Centre with plenty of things to do and see! So why don’t you stop by to talk to some charities and see all of the good work that is done in our borough! Or you can just pop in to visit and maybe have a cup of tea!
We are open Monday to Friday, 10am-4pm and Saturday, 10am-2pm.
