Open Door - Berkhamsted
On Wednesday 6th November, someone from the Volunteer Centre will be at Open Door in Berkhamsted to talk to people about volunteering!
Open Door is a safe, welcoming and vibrant community space situated on Berkhamsted High Street where people enjoy being active, creative, sociable and engaged. They have a wide range of activities on offer such as classes to stretch, relax and re-energise as well as art, craft and creative workshops. Open Door hosts regular exhibitions and events such as literary, food, tea dances and quiz nights. Open Door is also home to a community café which is funded by donations.
Open Door is a great place for learning a new craft, improving your skills and nurturing yourself with some time out. You can meet new people, stretch yourself, experiment and learn new things.
The Volunteer Centre works within the whole of Dacorum to help local charities find volunteers. Being based in Hemel Hempstead town centre means that it’s not always easy for volunteers outside of Hemel to come and see us. As a result, we are trying to be more accessible to other communities in Dacorum by having a presence in places other than the Volunteer Centre.
Starting on Wednesday 6th November, on the first Wednesday of the month, people in Berkhamsted can go to the Open Door on Berkhamsted High Street between 12 and 1 to talk to a representative from the Volunteer Centre.
If you have any questions at all about volunteering, you can come along, grab a drink and a cake, and have a chat about what you can get out of volunteering and what opportunities there are in your area. We have several opportunities based in Berkhamsted to suit everyone!
