Rotary Club of Hemel Hempstead

“I wonder if readers or their children saw Santa on his Sleigh last Christmas as he made his way around the streets of Hemel Hempstead?”

It was once again organised by volunteers from the Rotary Club of Hemel Hempstead supportPeople gathered around Santa's sleigh in the Marlowes in Hemel Hempsteaded by their friends and other organisations. It’s one of many projects run by its members addressing local community needs - others include activities with local schools, including public speaking, cookery, essay writing and art competitions and technical challenges. They also support the local blind community with entertainment evenings and have just launched a friendship café for the over 60’s on a monthly basis in the Centre in the Park. Other initiatives include a yearly visit to Whipsnade Zoo for local children with special needs, various fundraising events and international projects; the list goes on and on top of that they also offer an active social programme and regular meetings with interesting speakers on a wide and diverse range of subjects.

All of these fantastic projects of course require a group of people who are inspired to give something back to the community. To enable them to continue with all of their great work, including the Santa Sleigh, they are looking for some new like-minded members to join their club. If you have a cause you are passionate about Rotary is the place to turn ideas into action.
