The Volunteer Centre – Business as Usual behind the scenes.

Although Community Action Dacorum, and the  Volunteer Centre has been forced to close to the public due to the spreading of the Corona Virus, we are still very much business as usual behind the scenes, and,  as you can imagine we have been extremely busy over the last couple of weeks.  We have been coordinating our response to supporting our service users during what is clearly a distressing time for them and their families, and we continue to work with our colleagues across the Borough and within the County to coordinate the sectors efforts and deploy volunteers to areas of greatest need.

Support4Dacorum is seeing a huge number of people contact us either by telephone (01442 247209) or by email (volunteering@communityactiondacorum.org.uk) and via the County Response at #teamherts, with all sorts of offers of help in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

This is absolutely incredible; we have been inundated with offers of help from people of all ages, and from all over Dacorum and we are working extremely hard to ensure that everyone who can help is able to do so as safely as possible. We would like to thank everyone who has contacted us. We will be in touch with you all by email very shortly.

Community Action Dacorum is working with a number of agencies across Hertfordshire, to jointly co-ordinate the county wide response. If you are in need of support, or know someone who needs help, please contact HertsHelp on 0300 123 4044.

If you are a local voluntary organisation needing help, advise or volunteers, please contact us on 01442 247209 or email volunteering@communityactiondacorum.org.uk. Support4Dacorum is here to support you the very best we can.

Did you know that Radio Dacorum, a project of Community Action Dacorum, is still broadcasting 24/7? And even better, Matt Hatton is presenting a very special programme live every day, Monday to Friday between 12 and 2pm helping to keep people connected and smiling, with music, talk, requests and so much more - so why not give his GREAT ESCAPE RADIO SHOW a listen today?

If you want to volunteer, visit www.thvolunteering.org.uk and complete the registration form in as much detail as possible.

STAY SAFE.
