Support4Dacorum Volunteer Centre - Radio Dacorum

Behind closed doors at the Roundhouse in the Marlowes, we are still busy checking out the hundreds of local residents who have volunteered to help during the Covid-19 crisis with local charities throughout the borough. Thank you again to all those who have registered, many of you have now been placed with charities and many more will be as the need arises.  Thank you for your patience.

We would like to highlight this week one of the organisations working to support the community during lockdown.

Radio Dacorum is a project run by the charity Community Action DacorumRadio Dacorum outside the Roundhouse and operates as an online community radio station based in Hemel Hempstead. It started life in 2012 broadcasting 24/7 and is continuing to do so during the Covid-19 lockdown, thanks to the capable hands of volunteer Matt Hatton, who is virtually living in the studio making sure it runs smoothly. Matt himself does a live lockdown show from the studio Monday to Friday from midday to 2pm and is playing some truly awesome music, so why not tune in. The station has a team of around 30 volunteers who, under normal circumstance, produce and create their own shows which they broadcast from the studio. Now under lockdown the presenters have all been upskilled by Matt to produce their shows at home and remotely upload them to the system, so the shows do go on!

Many of the presenters are also pre-recording interviews to broadcast, as well as more and more live interviews via Skype. One contributor is the Mayor of Dacorum Cllr Terry Douris who is now taking part in a regular chat show with Matt.

Radio Dacorum are keen to hear from anyone who wants to promote what they are doing in the lockdown to help the community, or anything they are doing that they want to share with the people of Dacorum. Please contact him

If you want to listen to Radio Dacorum you can go to or you can find it on TuneIn online, or by asking Alexa to play Radio Dacorum on Tune in!
