Is decision making your cup of tea?!

If so, becoming a charity Trustee could be right up your street. A Trustee’s main role is to provide long term direction for a charity by implementing new policies and activities, in line with legal requirements, whilst taking into account the opinions of those with a an interest or ‘stake’ in the charity.

In order to govern well, Trustee boards rely on help from volunteers as well as their staff, advisors and stakeholders. Becoming a Trustee will allow you to shape, support and contribute your ideas and knowledge to your chosen organisation.

It’s an exciting role which will enhance your CV and may open doors to new career paths. It also gives you the opportunity to work with new and interesting people from diverse background so why not give it a try?

The organisation may call you something else – a member of the management or executive committee, a director, a governor or some other title. Whatever you are called, if you are a member of a board or committee with overall responsibility for the organisation, you are a charity trustee.

Here in Dacorum, the following organisations have vacancies for charity Trustees –

Cherry Tree Housing Association, Dacorum First Credit Union, Dacorum Mencap, Herts County Netball Association, The Abbeyfield (Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead) Society Ltd, The Abbeyfield Kings Langley Society Ltd and Signpost.
