Druglink

Druglink is a substance misuse charity based in Hemel Hempstead. Their objective is to make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by substance misuse, their families and communities. They achieve this through their pathway of Prevention, Recovery and Reintegration.

They take an active role in education to help prevent substance misuse. Greater awareness and understanding enable them to not only help more people in their battle to recovery, but also work towards reducing drug and alcohol related problems affecting local communities.

Druglink aims to help people at any point of their treatment journey and offers personalised support through the recovery process. Their rehabilitation service is called Oxygen Recovery (oxygenrecovery.co.uk). It is a four step residential rehab programme that offers up to two years of supported housing. They support clients going through detox and first stage rehabilitation, all the way through to Sober Living when they are trying to rebuild their lives.

Unlike most recovery programmes, they don't help clients through rehab and expect them to immediately return to a life free of substances. They believe it is essential to help their service users build confidence and gain experience so they can reintegrate back to work, family and society. Coffee Ethic (coffee-ethic.co.uk), their social enterprise, offers people in recovery the opportunity to learn new skills and build confidence through a programme of training and personal development.

Much of the work they do would not be possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of volunteers. They are always looking for people to help them, and volunteering with Druglink is both fun and rewarding. They are currently looking for volunteers for the following roles:
