In addition to helping find and place volunteers, we offer the local community a variety of services from the Roundhouse.
- We are now able to carry out DBS (Disclosure and Baring Service) Checks for Volunteers.
- Additionally we offer a photocopy service.
DBS Checks are now carried out at the Roundhouse
The Disclosure and Barring Service is the new name for what used to be called the Criminal Records Bureau.
Many people are familiar with the term CRB, and DBS has now replaced this.
These checks can be done by organisations on staff and volunteers whose work involves close and (regular) contact with children and vulnerable adults.
It is very important that employers are certain about eligibility before requesting a DBS check, as it is an offence to ask for a check on someone who isn’t eligible.
Eligibility information can be found on the DBS website www.gov.uk/dbs
Types of Checks
There are two levels of checks: Standard and Enhanced. Information on who can apply for which level can be found on the DBS website.
What do I need to do?
Email us a completed request form.
All applications are completed face to face at our offices Hemel Hempstead and processed through a partnership agreement with North Herts CVS (NHCVS), a DBS registered umbrella body. The process takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. The individual will also need to bring 3 original identification documents.
Information packs for organisations requesting a DBS can be found on the Support4Dacorum web site.
