Why volunteer?

Volunteer Hands Colour

There are loads of reasons why you might volunteer.

Volunteering is a great way to improve your C.V, and therefore improve your career prospects. Employers look for candidates with a wide range of skills, and experiences.  Moreover, it looks good on your UCAS form!

Volunteering helps you learn new and useful skills, for example problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills.  It also helps you become more creative, with a broader outlook on life than those who have not volunteered.
You will have the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and make new friends.

Volunteering will give you a sense of purpose and direction in life, helping you to become more confident in all aspects of your life.  It will also give you the chance to impact someone’s life either directly (by helping at a sports club) or indirectly (by working in a charity shop)
